The brainchild of <a href="spotify:artist:1TX9g1uSl0B0DQIE9lBqmU">Draconian</a> guitarist Daniel Arvidsson, Sweden's Mammoth Storm specialize in a brutal amalgamation of doom, psych, drone, and stoner metal that invokes names like <a href="spotify:artist:1Dvfqq39HxvCJ3GvfeIFuT">Mastodon</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5M52tdBnJaKSvOpJGz8mfZ">Black Sabbath</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:36rdRJ9J7cD24gVcxMERnq">Land of Nod</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:4htjQW3lgIwL6fEJlTOez4">Electric Wizard</a>. Formed in 2012, the trio features Arvidsson on bass and vocals, guitarist Christer Ström, and drummer Emil Ahlman, the latter of whom also provides the occasional organ part. The band self-released their debut EP, Rite of Ascension, in 2014 before inking a deal with <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Napalm+Records%22">Napalm Records</a>.
