Saxophonist Marcus Anderson was born in 1984 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Eventually graduating from North Carolina Central University, he began the life of the working musician, accompanying various artists and doing his own gigs in between. Eventually a video of one of Anderson’s fiery solo performances caught the attention of <a href="spotify:artist:5a2EaR3hamoenG9rDuVn8j" data-name="Prince">Prince</a>, who immediately hired Anderson as a full-time touring musician for the New Power Generation between 2012 and 2016. In addition to work with <a href="spotify:artist:5a2EaR3hamoenG9rDuVn8j" data-name="Prince">Prince</a>, Anderson worked with <a href="spotify:artist:5nLYd9ST4Cnwy6NHaCxbj8" data-name="CeeLo Green">CeeLo Green</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:04ka9403wgTxmWFMY1PD5t" data-name="Judith Hill">Judith Hill</a> as well as releasing multiple solo albums. His 2015 album And Coffee was a collection of smooth jazz instrumentals inspired by the mellow moods of coffee consumption.
