Maya Killtron, powerhouse multi-hyphenate and Canada’s Queen of Boogie. Her vibrant style and lush upbeat take on Modern Boogie and 80’s inspired funk have landed her features in Noisey, Earmilk, and Huffington Post. Singles and collaborations have appeared in episodes of Broad City, Kim’s Convenience & soundtracked collections for Swedish fashion house Gina Tricot. Her vinyl 45’s and LP’s have sold out to collectors and boutique record shops around the world.
Not only a solo artist Maya is a long standing fixture in the Canadian music scene. She is the go-to songwriting collaborator, producer, arranger and touring violinist and vocalist for many Canadian and International artists including Juno winners The Arkells and Haviah Mighty. Her string quartet Bowed Arts continues to partner with brands like Sephora, SOHO House and TIFF for boutique performance experiences across the country.
2022 saw the release of her sophomore album Persimmon. Singles featured in a variety of editorial playlists and vinyl is now available worldwide. Maya is now set to mark her international showcase debut as part of 2023’s Tallinn Music Week in Estonia, Toronto’s International Jazz Festival Main stage and a fall tour.
