Chilean born singer, Leo Mendez is a household name in his native Chile. But it is his adopted home of Sweden where he has found his musical home where he wants to share his positive energetic music with the world! Born in Valparaíso, Chile, Leo Mendez moved to Sweden when he was 10 years old. When he was 14 years old, Mendez discovered music. It wasn’t long before his idols, the swedish DJs and artist legends Rob & Raz helped him into the business. In the Spring of 1999 he released his first solo album, Latino for Life, which featured ‘Razor Tongue. 2000 was a breakthrough year for Leo Mendez with his mega hit “Razor Tongue” which introduced Sweden to the sound of his salsa-inspired latino pop! The year of 2002 Mendez found success again with “Adrenaline” in the Swedish Eurovision qualifications where he came in second place.
Recently, inspired by “The Osbournes”, Mendez’s family starred in a reality TV show in Chile, ‘Los Mendez’. For four seasons, viewers followed Mendez, his six children and three ex-wives! The show followed the ups and downs of the Mendez family and when Leo’s son Leo Jr spoke openly about his sexuality on the show, the Mendez family helped to open a national discussion about sexuality. Leo supported his son and took a strong political stance in Chile.
Mendez is back in Sweden and he is concentrated on continuing to create energetic and positive music like to hit single "Everyday".
