Their music defies any strict classification. The band describes it simply as: Mikromusic. It is inspired by Slavic folk, jazz, rock and electronic styles. Some journalists have described their music as avant pop or pop art.
Mikromusic has recorded eight studio albums, but the true power of the band can only be experienced at live performances. Throughout their career so far, they have released six critically acclaimed concert albums. They have played at the biggest Polish music festivals, including: Open'er Festival, Ladies Jazz Festival and The Song Festival in Opole. They have also widely performed abroad, including: Japan (Blue Note Tokyo), Germany, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Belarus, Portugal, Spain and Italy.
The band has been nominated tree times for the most prestigious Polish music award (The Fryderyk Award) in the Alternative Album of the Year category and won Fryderyk in 2020.
An important aspect of Mikromusic's creativity is the visual side of their work. Their music videos have been nominated and awarded many times at festivals including: Yach Film Festival, Camerimage and the Berlin Music Video Awards.
The leader of the band is Natalia Grosiak - vocalist, songwriter and composer.
The visibility and popularity of their music videos on Youtube is in the tens of millions. The album ‘Tak mi się nie chcę’ (I can’t be bothered) has been performed to sold out concert venues and puts Mikromusic amongst the most popular bands in Poland.
