Milk Talk is a Japan-based electropop duo, consisting of multi-instrumentalist Hair Kid and vocalist Q.i. Drawing on a delicate blend of hard funk, city pop and synth disco influences, their music has been described as “turning bottled-up feelings into electro boogie delights”.

Recorded in a New Jersey basement, the pair’s first collaboration “Plastic New York” was released on Japanese netlabel Maltine Records in 2016. They then moved to Japan, taking on the name Milk Talk and releasing “Ah Be Rue” as a 7” single at the end of 2019. In 2023, Milk Talk’s debut self-titled LP was released on vinyl and cassette tape, supported by a string of live shows in Japan.

Milk Talk has provided remixes for artists including m-flo and Pasocom Music Club; released collaborations including tracks with Moe Shop, Vantage, and XL Middleton; and contributed original music to projects such as Forza Horizon 6 and the anime adaptation of Eren the Southpaw.

ハードファンク、シンセディスコ、シティポップ以降の感覚を繊細に溶け合わせたサウンドは「抱え込まれた感情を、エレクトロ・ブギーの歓びへと変える音楽」と評されている。

ニュージャージーの地下室で録音された、２人の初めての共作「Plastic New York」は、2016年に Maltine Records からリリースされた。その後、日本へ拠点を移し、Milk Talkとして活動をスタート。
2019年末に7インチシングル「Ah Be Rue」を発表し、2023年にはデビューアルバム『Milk Talk』をレコードとカセットでリリースし、日本各地でライブツアーを開催。2025年にはHouse of Blues Anaheimにて初のアメリカ公演を行った。

国内外のアーティストとのコラボレーションも多数行っており、m-flo、パソコン音楽クラブへのリミックス提供のほか、寺田創一、Moe Shop、Vantage、XL Middleton らと共演も行う。
2026年には世界的ゲーム『Forza Horizon 6』の公式トレーラー主題歌を担当。
