Korean pop singer Minzy is best known as a former member of the K-pop girl group <a href="spotify:artist:1l0mKo96Jh9HVYONcRl3Yp">2NE1</a>. Born Gong Min-ji in Seoul, the artist grew up dancing, recruited by <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22YG+Entertainment%22">YG Entertainment</a> while just in sixth grade. From 2009 to 2016, she was a part of <a href="spotify:artist:1l0mKo96Jh9HVYONcRl3Yp">2NE1</a>. The quartet's youngest, she was the main dancer in the group that also counted <a href="spotify:artist:3uHb6dRazmcaT15bMexUtt">Park Bom</a>, Sandara Park, and <a href="spotify:artist:0tzSBCPJZmHTdOA3ZV2mN3">CL</a> as members. In 2016, she parted ways with the act and the label, signing with <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Music+Works%22">Music Works</a>. The following year, she joined the cast of the second season of Sister's Slam Dunk. Her debut solo single, 2017's "I Wanted to Love," was featured on the television drama Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People. Months later, Minzy issued her first EP, Minzy Work 01 Uno.
