The aptly named solo project of former Whirr member and King Woman vocalist Kristina Esfandiari, Miserable's intense shoegaze turns anguish into something beautiful. Esfandiari debuted Miserable in 2013 with a split 7" with Grey Zine on Run for Cover Records, then released a pair of singles in 2014 (February's Halloween Dream and August's Dog Days) that expanded on the project's passionately heavy yet ethereal sound. Two years later, Esfandiari returned with the full-length Uncontrollable, which was inspired by the loss of a close friendship. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
