Formed in Oxford in the summer of 2021 by Polish bassist Magic Macoviak, Maltese guitarist Thom Cuschieri and British drummer Duncan Woods, Mystery Biscuit in many ways represents what British-European relations could have been - had all invested parties spent more time listening to CAN's Tago Mago. The band made its live debut as a nameless trio later that same year with a set that included covers of Neu!'s "Hallogallo", and "I Saw a UFO", by Japanese krautrockers Minami Deutsch. Their line-up now expanded to include British keyboardist Marc Burgess (a veteran of the Oxford psych scene), Mystery Biscuit's current original repertoire combines classic motorik rhythms with Sonic Youth-inspired dissonances, alongside obscure old-time radio samples and overwrought vocals drenched in cavernous reverb. Their debut EP "The Hum & The Howl" is out now on all digital platforms.
