中学生の頃よりシンガーソングライターとして活動し、「Myuk」として2021年メジャーデビュー。
心を閉ざしていた小学六年生の時にYUIや絢香の音楽に救われた経験と、エド・シーランやテイラー・スウィフトなどの洋楽との出会いで、アコースティックギターを主体に楽曲の制作をスタート。出身地である熊本で行われたチャリティーイベントでその歌声を見出され、15歳でサーキットイベント・HAPPY JACKに出演。オリジナル曲の配信リリースをスタートし、Spotify、J-WAVEでのフックアップや、18歳でFUJI ROCK FESTIVALなどにも出演を果たす。
これまで自身のみで作曲と表現活動を行っていたが、Eveとの出会いによって音楽の表現の深さに気づき、多様な楽曲を発信する、ソロプロジェクト Myuk(読み：ミューク) の活動をスタート。
Myukは、スウェーデン語で「やさしさ」「やわからさ」の意味を持つ”Mjuk”と本名(Miyu Kumagawa)からの造語。音楽に救われた経験から、自分もそういった存在になれるようにと柔らかくも、意思の強さを秘めたその歌声で、音楽を発信していく。
She has been a singer-songwriter since junior high school and made her major debut in 2021 as "Myuk".
After meeting Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and others, she began creating songs mainly on acoustic guitar. After being discovered at a charity event in her hometown of Kumamoto,Japan, she began distributing and releasing her original songs at the age of 15, and after hooking up with Spotify and others, she performed at the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL at the age of 18.
She had been writing lyrics by herself, but after meeting Eve, she realized the depth of musical expression and started her solo project "Myuk," which features a wide variety of songs.
Myuk is a coined word from the Swedish word "Mjuk," meaning "kindness," and her real name (Miyu Kumagawa).
