Nao’ymt (Naoaki Yamato) is a Tokyo-based music producer, songwriter, composer, and singer from Chiyoda, Tokyo. He formed the R&B vocal group JINE in 1998 and began his full-scale career as a producer in 2004.
He wrote, composed, and produced every track on Daichi Miura’s 2018 album Sphere, a conceptual work inspired by Japanese aesthetics and reincarnation. Incorporating field recordings from various regions of Japan, the project took three and a half years to complete and received high critical acclaim.
For Namie Amuro, he has produced 28 songs, including the hit singles “Baby Don’t Cry” and “Get Myself Back.” Recognized as a pioneer of ambient R&B, he is also dedicated to nurturing the next generation through lectures and writing.
In 2025, marking the 25th anniversary of his career, he launched the commemorative project Naoaki Yamato 2025. His work was featured in DEATH STRANDING 2, and he composed the music for the Osaka–Kansai Expo’s spectacle “One World, One Planet.” He also served as Music Director for the Expo’s Closing Ceremony, further expanding his creative horizons.
