ROTH BART BARON is a Japanese folk-rock band led by singer-songwriter Masaya Mifune, active since 2009. Known for its delicate lyricism and expansive soundscapes, the band crafts a unique musical world that deeply resonates with listeners.
To date, they have released eight original albums, with their latest aptly titled “8.” They have made a strong impression at music festivals across Japan, including a return appearance at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL in 2023, captivating a wide audience.
In 2021, the track “BLUE SOULS” — a collaboration under the unit A_o with Aina the End — gained attention through its feature in a Pocari Sweat commercial. The following year, ROTH BART BARON composed the score and theme song for the film My Small Land, which won the Amnesty International Film Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival, further spotlighting their talent in film music.
In 2024, the band performed on NHK’s “tiny desk concerts JAPAN” and celebrated the 10th anniversary of their debut album The Ice Age with a nationwide tour titled “Ice Age: Melt and Blooms.” July 19, 2025, they will host their annual solo event “BEAR NIGHT 6.” This fall, they are set to release a brand-new album, followed by a 15-date national tour across Japan.
