Nate Walcott is a composer, producer, arranger, pianist, keyboard player, and trumpet player. He is a member of the band Bright Eyes, and has composed the scores for several feature-length films, including the 2014 blockbuster The Fault In Our Stars.
Highlights of his time with Bright Eyes over the years include writing the arrangements and orchestrations for the band’s appearance at the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, performances at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, and London’s Royal Albert Hall, and numerous tours of North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
In the studio, Walcott has written arrangements (orchestral and otherwise) for artists such as Mavis Staples, Phoebe Bridgers, Angel Olsen, First Aid Kit, Jenny Lewis, Maya Hawke, Christian Lee Hutson, Pete Yorn, Cursive, The Faint, and Rilo Kiley, among others, and has performed on the albums of such artists as U2, Beck, Boy Genius, Jeff Parker, The Killers, Jason Mraz, Maroon 5, She & Him, and The Shins. He has also played in Conor Oberst’s Mystic Valley Band and with singer/songwriter M. Ward, has toured with the James Mercer and Danger Mouse-led group Broken Bells, Rilo Kiley, Iron & Wine, and the Glenn Miller Orchestra, and has provided live symphonic arrangements for Leon Bridges.
