Two thirsty camels walk into a bar in Amsterdam. As they fill their humps with kegs of local beer, one camel turns to the other camel. “Ever got drunk with a camel below sea level?” The second camel turns to the first camel and winks. “Walk the camel walk, man.”
Rufus and Daniel have been making music together since they met in a bar in Amsterdam in 2010. After a four-year hiatus spent playing music separately on either side of the Atlantic, the duo reunited in Amsterdam where they engaged in an extended reunion party. They woke up two months later, thirsty and illuminated like two desiccated camel saints in a flooded desert. New Strangers was born: a smooth-paced awakening, like a wave one could walk on, from one side of the Atlantic to the other, and back.
