Northwest

Northwest are an experimental-pop duo with a multidisciplinary approach, formed by Spanish composers, producers and multi-instrumentalists Mariuca García-Lomas and Ignacio Simón. Founded in London and currently based in Madrid, their music explores different genres, from contemporary classical music and avant-garde electronics to art-pop, psychedelia and minimalism.

Northwest was founded in 2015 and have since become one of the most interesting acts in the European underground scene. Their music has been described as innovative and groundbreaking and their sound has been defined as cinematic and ethereal. Their live performances are an immersive experience, combining music, dance and visual arts. They have been compared to musicians such as Mark Hollis, Broadcast, Julia Holter or Portishead and other artists such as Pina Bausch, Louie Fuller or Andrei Tarkovski. However, Northwest have always aimed to create a unique artistic universe.

Northwest have performed in halls, festivals and art centers all around Europe, having played in cities such as London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Madrid or Moscow and in renowned venues such as Guggenheim Museum (Bilbao) or Dunk! festival in Ghent (Belgium).
