ONEW debuted as a member of the contemporary band SHINee in 2008. SHINee brought along with them a new wave to K-Pop with their hits including "Replay", "Sherlock", and "View” with their unique, unprecedented genre of music that earned them the title “Princes of K-Pop’. The band also gained international recognition; Rolling Stone named SHINee’s “Sherlock” as one of the “75 Greatest Boy Band Songs of All Time” and gave them praise for the experimentality and innovation of their music style.
Early since debut, ONEW is regarded as one of the most talented vocalists in K-pop with his warm, soft voices that strike a chord in the hearts of listeners. After a number of standalone and collaboration singles, he officially kicked off his solo career with his first mini album “VOICE” in December, 2018. Aside from his activities as a member of SHINee, ONEW has consistently built up his acting career polished his acting skills on-stage through various musical, on-stage productions including ‘Hey! Bro”, ‘Rock of Ages’, ‘The Promise of the Day’, ‘Shinheung Military Academy’, and ‘Midnight Sun’. He also made television appearances in dramas such as ‘Descendants of The Sun’ in 2016 and variety shows like ‘Sea of Hope’ in 2021.
