The Choir & Orchestra of the J.S. Bach Foundation aims to perform the entire vocal oeuvre of Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750) over the course of some 25 years. Each month, a Bach cantata is performed, as a rule in Trogen, Switzerland. If the schedule of one cantata per month can be maintained, it is estimated the project will conclude in 2030. All introductory workshops, concerts and reflection lectures on the cantata texts are recorded on CD and DVD. The reflection lectures are collected and published successively in a “Bach Anthology”.
The Choir & Orchestra of the J.S. Bach Foundation and the vocal soloists are conducted by Rudolf Lutz. Through its activities, the J.S. Bach St. Gallen AG aims to convey both a comprehensive experience and a singular understanding of Johann Sebastian Bach’s music.
