Formed in São Paulo in the mid-90's by Henrique Lima (vocals/guitar), Beto DeMoreaux (bass/vocals), Paulinho Jiraya (drums/cavaquinho/surdo/pandeiro/triangle/keyboards/vocals), the Virgulóides, dedicated to a synthesis of rock and samba with a satirical view, launched in 1997 their first CD, Virgulóides, produced by Carlos Eduardo Miranda (the launcher of the Raimundos). With the hit "Bagulho no Bumba" (Henrique Lima/Beto Demoreaux), the album sold 40,000 copies. In the next year, Só Pra Quem Tem Dinheiro?had the participation of Bezerra da Silva and Raimundos, while As Aventuras dos Virgulóides (2000) had success with "Chevette Vermelho".
