Characterized by expansive vocal harmonies over danceable rhythms, Parlour Tricks was formed by songwriter Lily Cato in New York City in 2010. They released a self-titled EP in 2011, performed live constantly, and had a 2013 single called "Belle Gunness," licensed for a BMW television commercial. After festival appearances including Bonnaroo and South by Southwest, they were named Best Pop Band in New York 2014 by the Village Voice, and signed with Bar/None Records in 2015. Their debut full-length album, Broken Hearts/Bones, was recorded at Black River Entertainment, Blackbird Studios, and Omni Sound Studios in Nashville by Emery Dobyns (Patti Smith, Suzanne Vega). Brimming with elegant pop, it was released in June 2015, followed by a heavier EP called Bodies in 2016. New music is forthcoming.
