Patrick Cassidy is a distinguished Irish composer whose work spans opera, orchestral, choral, and film music. His celebrated aria Vide Cor Meum, composed as a “mini-opera” for Ridley Scott’s film Hannibal, has become an enduring modern classic — performed at both the Oscar and Emmy Awards.
His first opera, Dante, premiered at the Theater Hof in Bavaria to great critical acclaim. His other major works include The Mass, recorded in its full symphonic version with the London Symphony Orchestra and later arranged for choir and organ; the concert works Deirdre of the Sorrows and Famine Remembrance; and Immortal Memory, his acclaimed collaboration with Lisa Gerrard.
