Paul Smith

Paul Smith is a British composer, conductor and classical artist born in 1981. He co-founded the Grammy nominated vocal ensemble <a href="spotify:artist:32nW8kGbs65y8CSlIvREuc" data-name="VOCES8">VOCES8</a> with his brother Barnaby and sang with the group for 12 years. A multi award winning performer and chart topping recording artist, his debut solo album, ‘<a href="spotify:album:1QTt4mZxOxpbwnSOpXds4Q" data-name="Reflections">Reflections</a>’, was released in 2019. His followed that with, ‘<a href="spotify:album:7AqU9rKDpBEmngeC7W09uf" data-name="Renewal?">Renewal?</a>’ released in 2022 to critical acclaim.

In 2025-6 he is releasing new music with VOCES8, and as part of a new duo with ‘flute player extraordinaire’, <a href="spotify:artist:71r1FG65OQEQiR6Tk5c1bJ" data-name="Daniela Mars">Daniela Mars</a>

Paul has a passion for immersive, interactive music making, and he brings this approach to his recording work and in live performance.

&#39;Renewal?&#39; includes six new commissions from Paul, alongside other commissions and masterworks from the 20th and 21st century with conducting duties shared between Paul and his brother, <a href="spotify:artist:7ejNaQI6qqhLCklGDuCpcm" data-name="Barnaby Smith">Barnaby Smith</a>

In 2024 he released ‘Faroe Islands: Echoes on the Wind’ with <a href="spotify:artist:5QZ4mTgTVQBJFQA66vDNR0" data-name="Mars Smith">Mars Smith</a> - a cinematic album inspired by nature.

In 2025 he released ‘Revolutions’ on VOCES8 Records with <a href="spotify:artist:32nW8kGbs65y8CSlIvREuc" data-name="VOCES8">VOCES8</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:71r1FG65OQEQiR6Tk5c1bJ" data-name="Daniela Mars">Daniela Mars</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6VnW68Hj5KPMgEd6YisNRN" data-name="Christophe Duquesne">Christophe Duquesne</a>, Teena Lyle and <a href="spotify:artist:4FVkYdGEFfFTuLJyqqdrIT" data-name="Neil Valentine">Neil Valentine</a>. Paul is the CEO of the VOCES8 Foundation, and is passionate about the impact singing and the arts can have in the widest possible context - from academic to social skills and building more cohesive communities.
