Michigan rapper RMC Mike barrels onto tracks with his growling, raspy vocals, delivering equal doses of savagery and humor with his rampant trash talk. Working closely with Rio Da Yung OG throughout the 2010s, the legendary pair delivered scene classics like "Paranoid," "Inergee," and "S.O.T.B," alongside mixtape series Dumb and Dumb3r.
Making an immediate impact with his concrete, deep-pitched vocals and caustic lyrics, Flint MC RMC Mike debuted in 2019 with the mixtape Rookie Season. Having collaborated on "Loose Talk," Mike struck up an immediate back-to-back synergy with local MC Rio Da Yung OG, and the duo moved quickly to record and release the classic Dumb and Dumb3r, working with producer Enrgy (to whom they dedicated "Inergee") to establish a sound of their own; their music was defined by relentless trash talk (Mike proved a natural) and untethered flows, chained to a mix of racing basses, stomping pianos, and dramatic SFX. Sequel Dum and Dumber Too shored up that sound just a few months later, delivering 15 more bangers including the local classic "Paranoid." After closing out the year with collaborations "Still Spice Talkin" (w/ Rio and GrindHard E) and "Jackie Moon" (w/ Rio & ShittyBoyz), Mike entered 2020 with a second solo LP, Sophomore Season, followed by EPs Dawg Shit (with Smurf Hicks) and Bedrock Babies (with YSR Gramz).
Further collaborative tapes arrived back-to-back in 2021: Mike worked with two of Michigan's finest on Judgement Day and the long-anticipated Dum N Dumbber 3, delivering fiery sets alongside KrispyLife Kidd and Rio respectively (the latter producing another scene classic in "S.O.T.B"). With Rio incarcerated in the early 2020s, Mike fleshed out his solo catalog with projects Junior Season (2022), Ghetto Assassin (2022), and Senior Season (2023), and released the EPs Ed, Edd n Eddy (with GrindHard E and previously recorded material from Rio) and Drake & Josh 2 (with YN Jay). Following Rio's release from prison, the duo reunited for "Me and Mike," "DD4," "Mike Voice," and "Flint Boyz," all of which landed on Rio's 2024 mixtape Rio Circa 2020. ~ David Crone, Rovi
