Data updated on 2025-04-27 22:17:28 UTC
Ross Learmonth, the former voice and songwriter of South African rock icons Prime Circle, has embarked on an exciting solo career as of 2024 after an incredible 23-year journey with the band. Renowned for breaking international boundaries, he has spent two decades captivating audiences worldwide and leaving a lasting impact on the South African music scene. Launching his solo career in 2019, Ross showcased his creative talents with his debut album "Carousel," released in March 2023, reflecting his diverse cultural inspirations. As he continues to soar, his recent singles "Honey" and "Because of You" have made waves on the Top 40 charts. With a powerful start to 2025 that includes performances at Kirstenbosch Gardens alongside Mafikizolo, participation in the prestigious RMB Starlight Classics, and an opening act for The Goo Goo Dolls' South African tour, Ross is poised for further success. He is set to release his next single, "Opposites," on February 28, 2025, with two more singles planned ahead of his upcoming second studio album.

Ross has come full circle as an artist; having literally grown up in music. His sound is authentic and vulnerable; the output of a mature and secure artist. And he enters this new professional era with one focus in mind: to connect with his audience. To give them spaces that allow for their own interpretations of the lyrics of a song. Spaces to become part of the music by lending a little bit of themselves thereto.
