Sarah Palu (b. 1991) is a Finnish-French composer and musician. For her, music creation is, above all, an inquiry into the nature of existence, human experience and consciousness.
Sarah Palu's main instrument is kantele, a modern version of an ancient Finnish folk instrument that has existed for a few thousand years. The timeless, rich and bright sound of the instrument has marked the artist profoundly and she has spent over twenty years immersing herself in it, moreover, performing and creating her own unique touch on the instrument. Alongside the kantele, she performs with the Celtic harp.
Sarah Palu's music draws its inspiration from a diverse collection of genres, varying from ancient Finnish folk music and minimalism to electronic, pop and contemporary classical music.
