Born and raised in Waimānalo, Oʻahu, Sidney Spencer is a Native Hawaiian singer-songwriter whose music blends Hawaiian roots, reggae soul, Latin rhythm, and pop sensibility into a sound uniquely his own. Raised in a musical family, he was gifted his first ʻukulele at age eleven by his aunt, celebrated artist Paula Fuga, setting him on a path of self-taught discovery and lifelong connection to
music.
Spencer’s sound fuses reggae, pop, and Latin influences into a style that feels both fresh and deeply authentic. Drawing inspiration from artists like Kolohe Kai, The Green, Maluma, and Santana, he draws from both island traditions and global sounds. “Reggae is my foundation, the element of pop comes through the melodies and hooks, and the Latin influence just adds that extra flavor to spice it up,” he shares. Since the release of his debut single “Crazy For You” in 2019, Spencer has evolved into one of Hawaiʻi’s most promising voices. His 2021 follow-up “Irie Town” showcased his Latin influence, paving the way for a string of singles that captured his growth as a songwriter and performer—including “Tequila” (2024) and “Naughty Shawty” (2025, featuring High Watah), both of which became radio mainstays across Hawaiʻi.
As he looks ahead, Sidney Spencer continues to push boundaries with new collaborations, Latin-infused reggae-pop releases, and dynamic live performances.
