"Affecting people through music and visuals is something I never imagined, especially coming from where I do," rapper and designer SosMula reflects. From East Harlem and born in Brazil, SosMula has shattered boundaries, amassing over 1.5 billion streams as one half of City Morgue. Now, as a solo artist, he's blending Trap sounds with rich melodies on his upcoming album, KAMP KRYSTL LAKE. It signifies Mula's independence post-major label, partnering with Ricky Hil's Limosa Nostra. It also builds on an element of Sos' brand. "My logo is a Russian goalie mask with my face tats." he notes.
Vinicius Sosa, aka SosMula, earned his name on the streets. Moving from São Paulo to NYC at age two, he embraced the gritty vibe of Spanish Harlem's Stanley Isaacs Houses. "I've been in and out of jail for drugs, guns, and gang life," he admits, quipping, "I wasn't the greatest criminal." As friends faced dire fates, music became his saving grace. His mother, a tattoo artist in NYC, introduced him to the great Rap and R&B of the '90s as well as Metal and Hardcore. In the late 2010s, Sos co-founded City Morgue, leading to a successful run of music, tours, and merchandise. The artist also known by “Sleezy” is now focused on his solo identity. Following 2021's 13 SONGS 2 DIE 2, he continued to carve out his lane with 2022's 2 HIGH 2 DIE and 2024's SLEEZ RELIGION. Now, KAMP KRYSTL LAKE raises the stakes for an artist who thrives on aggression and suspense in his street-rooted verses.
