Special Generation a American Soul R&B New Jack Swing Group, you would consider them one of the several bands of the 1990’s that reach success to be remembered. The members are Maquet Robinson, Kendrick Washington, Fernando Carter, Charles Salter and Maurice Dowdell . Some would say that struck it huge singing background behind Hits like “ U Can’t Touch This , Help The Children , Tell Me Have you Seen which in return earn them a Grammy with MC Hammer as well as signing to his Management Co. Bust it Records a subsidiary to Capitol Records, after signing they debuted their first single “ Love me just for me " which climbed the music charts with a bullet for 21 weeks which peaked at #04 in the country on the RIAA Music Billboard Hot 100 in December 1990, the band followed it up with another mid-tempo Top 10 Hit called "Spark of Love". Special Generation went on in 1992 to release there sophomore album entitled "Butterflies" in which the group recorded hit singles Like "Lift You r Head and Smile ", "Butterflies", "You Can Tie Me Down" along with the Rnb 90's group Troop member Steven Russell whom produced four songs on the album, they also worked with legends like Gerald Levert and Eddie Senior whom wrote ballads entitled " The Right One, "Silly Me Silly You" and "Who makes the choice" along with co writers Joe Little of The Rude Boys.
