Atlanta-based dreamlike R&B duo St. Beauty were formed in the mid-2010s by lead vocalist Alex Belle and vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Isis Valentino. Valentino's résumé before St. Beauty included work as a dancer and background singer for <a href="spotify:artist:6ueGR6SWhUJfvEhqkvMsVs">Janelle Monae</a> and membership with the artist collective Wondaland Arts Society. One of St. Beauty's first public appearances came with the inclusion of their song "Going Nowhere" on the Wondaland Arts Society-affiliated compilation Wondaland Presents: The Eephus in 2015. From there the duo released several singles, including 2016's "Borders" and "Holographic Lover" as well as 2017's "Caught."
