Stanley began in 2016 when <a href="spotify:artist:1GgblJXkRYNRnHUGBW9oLA" data-name="Ryan Gebhardt">Ryan Gebhardt</a> began recording the self-title debut LP. It was released on Forged Artifacts (USA) and King Forward Records (NL) in the fall of 2017 and coincided with Ryan's move to Minneapolis.
With a new band in Minneapolis, Stanley released a handful of singles including <a href="spotify:album:404295No1IFeGluf4dVrsu" data-name="With Any Luck">With Any Luck</a> and <a href="spotify:album:6ruOu55fVOaJhxSOcwmJWc" data-name="Right Hand Blue">Right Hand Blue</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:3FPxmqqMdZu3QiIhfyZhyN" data-name="Nice Guys">Nice Guys</a>), and did several tours, playing with bands like <a href="spotify:artist:4iaDWP59Z3e62DW7YWDbIE" data-name="Post Animal">Post Animal</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4HRnWAeo3vCjdZhuDi3Awf" data-name="Purple Funk Metropolis">Purple Funk Metropolis</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2JFTRDi5v7JtqoouVe1z5D" data-name="Slow Pulp">Slow Pulp</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4YMUvhPsDkcmGzVK6rr8Ri" data-name="Berta Bigtoe">Berta Bigtoe</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2Z0oy5DFzgh7kzFBV4Qa3x" data-name="Sleepy Gaucho">Sleepy Gaucho</a>, and many others. Stanley's sophomore release, Afternoon Stanley, came in early 2020 on Acrophase Records.
Following a hiatus, Stanley went back to Future Condo Studios in Minneapolis to begin recording the third LP. The first single, <a href="spotify:album:6pnDRTLxBS90LOHw5o0e54" data-name="Spotlight">Spotlight</a>, is out now and the album will be out in the summer of 2022.
