SUGARCANE is a six-piece folk-pop band hailing from Manila, renowned for their heartfelt storytelling and the unique blend of folk elements with meaningful lyricism.
Over the years, Sugarcane has released more than a dozen singles, amassing millions of streams across various platforms. Their breakout track “Leonora” with over 100 million streams, peaked at #21 on the Spotify Top 50 charts, a testament to their talent for crafting emotionally compelling music that connects with listeners on a profound level.
The band’s exceptional musical prowess has not gone unnoticed. In 2022, they were nominated for Favorite Group Artist at the Awit Awards, one of the Philippines' most prestigious music awards. Their songs "Paruparo" and "Leonora" continued to earn accolades, with multiple nominations in various categories at the 2023 Awit Awards. Furthermore, "Leonora" was nominated for Best Contemporary Folk Performance at the Wish Awards 2023, while “Paalam, Leonora” was also nominated for Awit Awards: Best Ballad Song of 2024.
