Summer Underground

<a href="spotify:artist:7LMscIe6HYKOWLOx9BT9sp" data-name="Grant Carey">Grant Carey</a> &amp; Chrissy Sandman (aka <a href="spotify:artist:6wwMeqHIZnsjLCpiH9DAG9" data-name="Sandwoman">Sandwoman</a>) met in high school growing up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and started making music as Summer Underground a few years later. Created on a macbook with a single microphone, their DIY debut release <a href="spotify:album:4PR40rFng3V5Qnj6SIszkY" data-name="Beneath This City (10th Anniversary Edition)">Beneath This City (10th Anniversary Edition)</a> arrived in August of 2011. A pair of EPs followed - 2012’s electro-centric <a href="spotify:album:2FsXag0grO3HmIDw7TsPWN" data-name="Departures">Departures</a> and 2013’s acoustic-focused <a href="spotify:album:3LanB96O1E4kGDAuYNGXwS" data-name="Arrivals">Arrivals</a>. The duo returned with their sprawling second full length release <a href="spotify:album:2T3ucOJDKNbVu9i6Eb466w" data-name="Honeycomb">Honeycomb</a> in 2014. 2015&#39;s <a href="spotify:album:7fYPiaN0OHixiao01WiPV7" data-name="The Bee Sides">The Bee Sides</a> EP featured outtakes from the Honeycomb sessions. In 2016 they released their third album <a href="spotify:album:7jkvvBzVXXUkea6calupTx" data-name="More Than a Friend, Less Than a Lover">More Than a Friend, Less Than a Lover</a> and hit the road for their first cross country tour. The pair relocated to Los Angeles in 2017 and began releasing music both solo &amp; collaboratively as <a href="spotify:artist:7LMscIe6HYKOWLOx9BT9sp" data-name="Grant Carey">Grant Carey</a> &amp; <a href="spotify:artist:6wwMeqHIZnsjLCpiH9DAG9" data-name="Sandwoman">Sandwoman</a>. <a href="spotify:album:2LNyVLAXIANe1mzZPnf5SJ" data-name="I Could Love You">I Could Love You</a>, an outtake from the MTAFLTAL sessions, arrived in 2018. Breaking a 6 year hiatus, Summer Underground will return with the single ALTAR on December 20th 2024, with multiple new full length releases planned for 2025 and beyond.
