Surly Grrly is a Minneapolis-based queercore protest band that likes to have fun while loudly fucking the patriarchy. Their live shows are filled with rage, passion, and politically-driven lyrics addressing bigotry, queerness, and misogyny. With a satisfyingly raw 80's garage punk sound, Surly Grrly uses catchy hooks and tempo changes to rile up a crowd, mixing originals with a variety of classic punk rock covers. The band’s current members are founding member/vocalist/guitarist Medbh McNamara, guitarist/vocalist Eloïse Boigenzahn, bassist Lou Levy & drummer Peter Korhonen.
