That alchemy creates Sweet Opus Sounds, a new kind of independent outfit born in 2018, housing composition, design, and creative digital marketing. With roots in Brooklyn and LA, Sweet Opus Sounds brings a dynamic approach to sound and artistry, and seeks to forge a different path in the music industry with a commitment to unique songwriting and music outside the cookie cutter box of industry standards.
“We’re on a mission to marry feel good, warmly textured arrangements with crafted songwriting,” says Joaquin Bynum, creator of the sound.
With years of creating pop, R&B and gospel/Christian music under his belt, Bynum has tapped into his soulful energy in launching Sweet Opus Sounds as his unfiltered and freely flowing creative fount. First writing and producing Rudey Barnes’ irresistible retro funk soul in 2016, and released under the Sweet Opus imprint in 2019, Bynum has evolved the label to broader pop/soul and cultivates what the duo believes to be the new era sound for timeless music.
