Teeth &amp; Tongue began in 2009 as the musical project of songwriter, singer and instrumentalist <a href="spotify:artist:4RjdSdeePEsz8SHyTLILCL" data-name="Jess Cornelius">Jess Cornelius</a>. Her debut album ‘Monobasic’ led to Triple J rotation and coveted slots at the Falls and Laneway Festivals. The project then alternated between solo and band formats, using sampled drums and walls of layered vocals, and eventually became a collaborative and dynamic five-piece live band.

In 2016 Jess began recording and releasing music under her own name, including 2017&#39;s <a href="spotify:album:4w357a1L0uJA0mG6b9jVlU" data-name="Nothing Is Lost">Nothing Is Lost</a> and 2019&#39;s <a href="spotify:album:3JmR7RFfrArNwgNRP8gQGd" data-name="No Difference">No Difference</a>.

As Teeth &amp; Tongue, Jess&#39;s 2014 album <a href="spotify:album:1jbm37Uy8OY4kUspb02M78" data-name="Grids">Grids</a> was named RRR FM Album of the Week, Double J Feature Album, Beat Album of the Week, RTR FM (Perth) Feature Album, Radio Adelaide Feature Album, and received four star reviews in The West Australian, The Herald Sun and The Music. It led to appearances at Meredith Music Festival, Boogie, White Night, MONA and NGV Friday Nights, and was nominated for three The Age Music Victoria awards.

In 2015 Jess was invited to be a resident at Nes Artist Residency in North Iceland, where she worked on material for 2016 album <a href="spotify:album:3bmsvuADG9VWJ1oFlXojJw" data-name="Give Up On Your Health">Give Up On Your Health</a>. The record was nominated for a J Award in Australia and for the Australian Music Prize.
