The Cherry Wave

A Shoegaze band from Glasgow, Scotland that's shared stages with the likes of Swervedriver, Nothing, …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Ringo Deathstarr, No joy & Pinkshinyultrablast. The Cherry Wave formed in 2012 and quickly attracted attention due to their fuzz drenched brand of the genre which draws inspiration from Hardcore Punk and Alt-Rock as much as it does the classic Shoegaze staples.


Their debut EP 'Blush' showcased their fuzzy hypnagogic sonic fog that would become their trademark. Effortlessly managing to be catchy while simultaneously dense and heavy, The Cherry Wave announced their arrival onto the scene with this crushingly beautiful debut.


Their first full length was the appropriately titled 'Avalancher'. Here their fuzz pedal worship was expanded on as the band showed they could also pen '90's tinged Alt-Rock as easily as they could a blurry 'gaze blizzard.


Their second album 'Shimaru', & second EP ‘Close’ followed. These records see the band display their songwriting ability like never before. In 2019 the third album ‘Solasta’ was released and the band, with the help of Chem 19 Recording Studios was more fully formed than ever.

The Cherry Wave while not being afraid to expand the genre's limits are still undoubtedly one of modern Shoegaze's brightest lights.
