My older brother put me on to Goodie Mob and Outkast. Playing drums in my school’s music band and the youth symphonic orchestra of my hometown taught me the ancestry of jazz and classical music. And then, there were skate videos, with their beautifully curated scores: Blind “Video Days”, Girl “Mouse”, Shorty’s “Fulfill the Dream”, “The Chocolate Tour”, to name only a few. Fascinated by how rhythm and melody informed the style of skating, I would record mixtapes for countless skate sessions during my teens. In their very own way, these videos introduced my to hip-hop, and showed me the invaluable merit of music.

However, my humble beginnings in the art of beat making didn’t start until years later. When audio software became easily accessible, I began defining my sound by learning from the artists I looked up to - Madlib, MF Doom, Jake One, J Dilla, Joe Beats, Chief Xcel. If I had to describe an "intern type beat", it would probably be sample laden, jazz infused, and always come with a shuffle that'll make your heart swing. My love for curation continues to strive in my monthly updated Spotify playlist "I love my friends" . I'm very honored to say I have worked with vocal artists Otis Mensah, Blu, Speech, MC Rene and Jess Edie among others, and have released music via Block Opera, Krekpek, Estugarda, Fennek, Mutombo and NewDef Records.
