Los Angeles four-piece the Outline was formed in 2002 by high school friends Graham Fink (vocals, guitar) and Austen Lee (guitar, keyboard), who later added bassist Max St. John and drummer Ryan Rabin. The band self-released a debut EP, The Chestnut Tree, at the end of 2004. With driving rock and a few touches of synth, the Outline's sound earned a deal with Fearless Records. Produced by Chris Fudurich (Nada Surf, Jimmy Eat World), they released their first full-length, You Smash It, We'll Build Around It, in July 2006. The band's résumé includes gigs with Jack's Mannequin, Panic! at the Disco, and Ben Lee. ~ Kenyon Hopkin, Rovi
