We are The Secret Chord from Mjölby, Sweden, and we write synthpop songs about the end of the world.
We have collaborated with the likes of <a href="spotify:artist:6bNpZ2lr2qhlpEtDrimoI7" data-name="Oscillian">Oscillian</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:40IRnYmyXkbVdWDQqMuIdi" data-name="HOLOFLASH">HOLOFLASH</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:31KAV0Dg1UNmnfSmvLT2XG" data-name="NINA">NINA</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1Jm30qu7cd4QfXkJSoYL6y" data-name="Bunny X">Bunny X</a>.
We released our debut album Tranquility Base in 2020. An album about civilisation coming to an end. It was followed by our second album Fermi Paradox in 2023 which was released by NewRetroWave. It's a story about the next generation leaving Earth because we failed to stop the climate crisis. It's also a tribute to science and the universe. It peaked at #1 on Bandcamp Top Synthwave Album Sales Charts.
Our third album Generation X is out now via NRW Records. Ten songs about growing up in Cold War Europe and the struggles people went through behind the Iron Curtain. The wonderful NINA appears once again as a guest, as well as the fantastic Ollie Wride.
