Thibaut Garcia has established himself as one of the most gifted guitarists of his generation, acclaimed by leading institutions and festivals worldwide. Winner of the Guitar Foundation of America, BBC New Generation Artist, “Révélation Instrumentale” at the Victoires de la Musique Classique, and laureate of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, he is recognized as a major voice on the international scene.
Of Franco-Spanish heritage, he was born in Toulouse and trained with Paul Ferret before studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris under Olivier Chassain and Judicaël Perroy.
He has since performed in prestigious venues such as Wigmore Hall, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, and the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. As a soloist, he appears with leading orchestras including the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the BBC orchestras, the Baden-Baden Philharmonic, and the Münchner Symphoniker.
An avid chamber musician, he collaborates with Edgar Moreau, Elsa Dreisig, Marianne Crebassa, Lucienne Renaudin-Vary, Anastasia Kobekina, and Quatuor Arod, and performs duos with Philippe Jaroussky (À sa guitare) and Antoine Morinière (Goldberg Variations).
An exclusive Warner Classics/Erato artist, his discography includes Aranjuez (Choc de Classica, Diapason d’Or, Gramophone Editor’s Choice), El Bohemio devoted to Agustín Barrios Mangoré, and a newly arranged version of Bach’s Goldberg Variations for two guitars.
