The trú was a mythological trio of poet-musicians in ancient Ulster. They were revered throughout Ireland, some believing their songs and stories came to them from the future. Others maintained that the trú were possessed by spirits during performance. As such, they were considered gatekeepers to the Otherworld.

2024 was a big year for the alt-folk trio. As well as touring to the USA, Canada and Switzerland, their sophomore album - Eternity Near - was longlisted in two categories at the Northern Ireland Music Prize (Best Album & Best Live Act). TRÚ's experimental version of traditional song "Is Fada Liom Uaim Í" also won the public vote to be shortlisted for Best Video at the prestigious awards.

From Gaelic Waulking songs and Scots lullabies to vengeful Japanese spirits and other mysterious characters, TRÚ draw inspiration from centuries of folklore in Ireland, Britain and beyond.
