Ukweli

Ukweli is a music producer & visual artist from Nairobi, Kenya. He draws influence from a wide palette of music he was exposed to growing up from R&B, Taarab, Highlife and Afrobeats among many other genres.

Ukweli was selected for the 2023 YouTube Black Voices program alongside some of the greatest talents at the forefront of contemporary music including Asake, Juls, Coco Jones etc. He is the first solo East African producer/artist selected for the program.

Ukweli was named by Apple Music's "Africa Now" Radio as one of the artists to watch in 2023.

He released his collaborative EP entitled "Maybe" with Xenia Manasseh which was a critical and commercial success. The EP had press coverage from MTV, Native Mag, Afrocritik, and more. Apple Music featured the EP as the release of the month and charted on the Apple charts in multiple countries. The lead single has amassed over 1 million streams on Spotify in less than 6 months.

He has worked with an eclectic array of artists from all over the world namely Willow Smith (America) , Ami Faku (South Africa) , Xenia Manasseh (Kenya) , Silvana Imam (Sweden) , Frank Yamma ( Australia) among many others.

Ukweli has performed as a DJ at festivals from - Sweden , Uganda, South Africa & Reunion islands to name a few.
