Viixi is a Filipino rock quartet composed of Basil Dungo (bass/vocals), Lee Esguerra (guitars/backing vocals), Yves Manalo (guitars), and Melvin Jay Cruz (drums).
The band was formed in 2016 by a group of colleagues who were looking for a creative outlet to express their love for music and some time away from the stressful office environment. Their first covers were mostly hits from Switchfoot, Green Day, Lit and Goo Goo Dolls.
The members soon discovered they all had the passion to write original songs and create their own distinct sound. The output of this collaboration is a fusion of pop punk, blues and rock. Led by Dungo’s deep and powerful vocals, Viixi’s songs are melodic narratives that deal with life, love, dreams and despair.
In 2017, Viixi was invited to be part of the school tour line up of Redlines Productions’ Rock Back to School 8.
