Producer <a href="spotify:artist:2iEvHAPa3A9WCngwRFhOu3">Mark Clair</a> is a man of several aliases, known most prominently as a member of the pioneering <a href="spotify:artist:1BlBZ9jQGOjmj6Zykgg43L">4hero</a> -- an act that has shifted through hardcore techno, drum'n'bass, broken beat, and alternative R&B. <a href="spotify:artist:2iEvHAPa3A9WCngwRFhOu3">Clair</a> used his Visioneers project to put an organic spin on his love for the jazzier end of golden age rap and those who built upon it throughout the '90s and 2000s, including legendary producers like <a href="spotify:artist:6GEykX11lQqp92UVOQQCC7">DJ Premier</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3BeQqzKdlARoOd6y30kCO2">Pete Rock</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:0IVcLMMbm05VIjnzPkGCyp">J Dilla</a>. A mostly instrumental affair, Visioneers debuted in 2002 with a pair of 7" singles on <a href="spotify:artist:2iEvHAPa3A9WCngwRFhOu3">Clair</a>'s own <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Omniverse%22">Omniverse</a> label. After a third Visioneers single was issued in 2004, <a href="spotify:artist:2iEvHAPa3A9WCngwRFhOu3">Clair</a> moved to <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22BBE%22">BBE</a>, which released the full-length Dirty Old Hip Hop (featuring the 7" cuts and more) in 2006. Dirty Old Remixes, which included a remix from <a href="spotify:artist:3nmiIgeri4vEY7y0VpbsCn">DJ Jazzy Jeff</a> and an appearance from <a href="spotify:artist:7yk35uHNQclPXFGFoTU44w">Pharcyde</a>, followed the next year. <a href="spotify:artist:2iEvHAPa3A9WCngwRFhOu3">Clair</a> reactivated Visioneers in 2012 for Hipology, also released on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22BBE%22">BBE</a>. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
