Atlanta-based quintet Warehouse pits melodic elements from nearby Athens' college rock heyday (B-52's, R.E.M.) against an artful post-punk approach. Behind the ragged vocals of singer Elaine Edenfield are the tightly wound arrangements of guitarists Alex Bailey and Ben Jackson, bassist Josh Hughes, and drummer Doug Bleichner. After a couple of years of regional gigging, they made their debut on Bayonet Records with the Tesseract LP. Referencing a variety of influences from Stereolab and Wire to painter James Abbott, they presented a complex but rewarding art-pop sound. Warehouse's follow-up, Super Low, arrived in September 2016. ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi
