Coming soon, Years Around the Sun’s third full-length album, The Other Side of Sound, marks a transformative moment for the band. Returning to their stripped-down acoustic roots, reimagined with lush arrangements and cinematic storytelling, the record captures both the intimacy and expansiveness that define their sound.
Formed in 2004, the band first gained recognition in San Diego when early demos appeared in indie surf film soundtracks, pairing their atmospheric style with the laid-back California lifestyle. The creative partnership between Ronnie Dudek and Dylan Raasch quickly flourished, leading to their debut album Inva De Siva (2008), which established their chemistry and versatility. Their momentum attracted acclaimed filmmaker Taylor Steele, who tapped them for his film Castles in the Sky. It was here they created the acoustic version of “Miles Away,” a breakthrough that propelled them onto the international stage.
In 2012, they released Incarnation, further showcasing their balance of melodic sophistication and emotional depth. Afterward, the duo stepped back to pursue individual projects, but their bond endured. Now, more than a decade later, they reunite with fresh perspective and renewed purpose.
With The Other Side of Sound, Years Around the Sun begin a new chapter — honoring their origins while offering a layered, evocative journey for both longtime fans and a new generation.
