her belt, Yemi Alade is the No 1 afropop female artist on the African
continent.
Yemi Alade is a Nigerian singer/songwriter with many talents that
includes being an actress and an all round entertainer. With the
nickname “Mama Africa “ by virtue of her love for her African heritage
& continent as a whole , Yemi Alade is also revered for her electrifying
stage-craft which has seen her not only perform for thousands of fans
in stadiums across Africa , stages in Europe and the United States of
America but also for exclusive audiences such as the United Nations ,
Global Citizen and the British royal family to name a few.
She is a two time BET Awards nominee for Best International Act
Africa (2015 & 2016 ) , a two-times nominee MOBO Awards for Best
International Act 2014 and 2015, a back to back Winner MTV Africa
Music Awards (MAMAs) for Best Female 2015 and 2016 .
Yemi Alade is also the first african female afropop star to hit over
100 million views on Youtube and VEVO with her Smash hit single
“Johnny”, which is now the most viewed video from an African female
pop star ever .
In July 2019, Yemi Alade was featured on “Don’t Jealous Me” and "My Power" on
Beyoncé’s compilation album The Lion King: The Gift.
