Alides Hidding

With his band <a href="spotify:artist:23DeFeMRFRhnfMfawvqFne" data-name="Time Bandits">Time Bandits</a>, Alides Hidding reached top level in the 80s. This Dutch band with its unique mix of funk and pop made themselves heard nationally and internationally.

In 1981 they scored a big hit with “<a href="spotify:track:12uFOiQSZ6IsrFLIb6Bxwj" data-name="Live It Up">Live It Up</a>”, which reached the #1 spot of the American Dance Charts.
In 1983, the song “<a href="spotify:track:2ZFePG6kPGYaKXj3aMzbXV" data-name="I&#39;m Specialized in You">I&#39;m Specialized in You</a>” reached the #2 in the top 40. It was a monster hit with more than 90,000 copies sold in the Netherlands and five times as much in France.
The following singles “<a href="spotify:track:2cTQsEYylPIJN5llWDXxa7" data-name="Listen to the Man with the Golden Voice">Listen to the Man with the Golden Voice</a>” and “<a href="spotify:track:26m6wCMQ244fhbHGr6ihDc" data-name="I&#39;m Only Shooting Love">I&#39;m Only Shooting Love</a>” also reached the top 10. The singles also did well internationally. In 1984 the single “<a href="spotify:track:5WAtL7vajn5BpQXC1kTsFn" data-name="Reach Out">Reach Out</a>” reached the top 40 and in 1985 another major hit was scored with “<a href="spotify:track:2L6RHmxd1HEpiNWOu0tGMs" data-name="Endless Road">Endless Road</a>”.
In between, Alides left for the USA where he wrote songs with <a href="spotify:artist:1HvcqyRLS9nF8hAbTWOqpr" data-name="Dan Hartman">Dan Hartman</a>.
In October 1985 the single “<a href="spotify:track:6c2WKc6morGRgQEfV5ITEV" data-name="Dancing on a String">Dancing on a String</a>” became a hit. And in 1986, “<a href="spotify:track:1uKVqBiBpyoRinWhMAUATj" data-name="I Won&#39;t Steal Away">I Won&#39;t Steal Away</a>” written by Alides and Dan Hartman became a hit.

In 1989, Alides decides to put an end to the <a href="spotify:artist:23DeFeMRFRhnfMfawvqFne" data-name="Time Bandits">Time Bandits</a> Bandits for the time being.
Alides then moved to Los Angeles where he wrote songs for artists such as <a href="spotify:artist:3fsCWTIuWIRvEGS7gerSJX" data-name="Jennifer Rush">Jennifer Rush</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6CiSKyyzJ9DlYxetEEZ22x" data-name="Helen Schneider">Helen Schneider</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5FlTKgucbhHvlJVf0pnvOv" data-name="Trini Lopez">Trini Lopez</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:6l0IHrGPjoSzh1Qy3w6X1X" data-name="The Nylons">The Nylons</a>, in collaboration with other composers such as Dan Hartman, Charlie Midnight and Dwayne Hitchings. He also wrote music for the children’s cartoon series “Star Street”.
