Gospel singer and songwriter Andrea McClurkin-Mellini was born in Amityville, New York into a very special musical family, which included her brother <a href="spotify:artist:74IEeKcuS34kF2TjOigXra">Donnie McClurkin</a>. <a href="spotify:artist:74IEeKcuS34kF2TjOigXra">Donnie</a> formed the nine-voice McClurkin Singers, which included two of his four sisters, Andrea and Olivia, in the late '70s, and the group became the nucleus of <a href="spotify:artist:5WoLViiULppNDGhgwQXvla">the New York Restoration Mass Choir</a>. Andrea, along with <a href="spotify:artist:74IEeKcuS34kF2TjOigXra">Donnie</a> and all of her sisters, regrouped again in 2007 as <a href="spotify:artist:4Z0ylJv2j7VQgfCYb0I0Re">the McClurkin Project</a>, and Andrea's songwriting contributions were a big part of the resulting album, We Praise You. Although she freely admitted being more comfortable singing background vocals, Andrea founded LoveSong Ministries in 2008 to promote a solo career.
