My debut album 'Memoirs From Vincent' is here!
"Memoirs from Vincent" is an ode to the piano that started a career in releasing my own compositions. The small, broken piano that I could fit in my car went everywhere with me and was the source of so many pieces that I have composed to date. In November 2022, Vincent became unplayable and forced me to purchase a new piano which you hear on this recording. Although Vincent wasn't the instrument used for this album, he did witness all of the sounds being produced from across the room.
This selection of works highlight the moments where music has felt most pivotal during my time with Vincent. Each song is composed with a specific emotion, but I am always captivated by how the listener interprets this and what emotion reflects for them.
Recreating the pieces on the new piano was admittedly an unusual experience and I found myself having to balance between wanting to replicate the piece identically and adding new moments to the music. In truth, there was no formula that worked for this and I found myself reliving each moment in a new light, new emotion and new feel. So perhaps I became my own listener and reinterpreted the emotions I had felt to become the recording I get to share now.
I am so honoured to continue sharing my emotions so that others may feel and project what my music pulls from them.
