Carson is an energetic alternative stoner rock trio from Lucerne, Switzerland. Originally formed in New Zealand, the band has existed in its current line-up since 2012. Carson are known for their massive wall of sound, distinctive musical style, and captivating, high-energy live performances.
To date, the band has released two EPs and three full-length albums, touring extensively across Europe with acts such as Karma to Burn, Siena Root, and Deville, as well as performing at festivals including Up in Smoke, Stonerhead Festival, Dudefest, Rock im Wald, Palp Festival, and Pietra Sonica Fest.
Their self-titled debut EP was released in 2012, establishing Carson as respected flag bearers of the stoner rock genre. A second EP, Three Point Split, and their debut album, Drown the Witness (2017), followed to strong international reception, earning widespread positive reviews and global sales.
In 2022, Carson released their second full-length album, The Wilful Pursuit of Ignorance, which entered the Swiss Artist Top 10 Album Charts, sold successfully worldwide, and garnered rave reviews from outlets such as Visions, Classic Rock, Metal Hammer, Rock Hard, and Drumheads.
On September 19, 2025, Carson released their latest album, When Gods Know Why.
